Voltaren contains diclofenac, and is in the category of medications known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs). Voltaren reduces pain, swelling, and inflammation, and often used to relieve pain for people with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and degenerative joint diseases.
How to use this product
The normal dose for adults ranges from 75 mg to 150 mg pr day, usually divided by three doses.
The maximum recommended daily dose of diclofenac is 150 mg. The tablets should be swollowed with a glass of water.
If you miss a dose of this medication take it as soon as you remember it. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and carry on with your regular schedule. Do not double-up on doses.
Side effects
Most common side effects caused by Voltaren are: abdominal or stomach cramps, pain, discomfort,
diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, lightheadedness
headache, heartburn, indigestion, nausea or vomiting.
Precautions
Do not use Voltaren if you have or recently had inflammatory diseases of the stomach and intestines, such as stomach or intestinal ulcer or ulcerative colitis. If you have
significant liver impairment or liver disease, or
reduced kidney function.
Persons allergic to diclofenac or any of the ingredients of the medication should avoid using Voltaren.
Avoid using Voltaren if you are pregnant.
