Product description
Imigran tablets contain the active ingredient sumatriptan, which is a type of medicine called a serotonin agonist. This is a pain relieving medicine specifically used to relieve migraine attacks.
How to use this product
Normal dose for adults is 50 mg. The dose of sumatriptan should be taken as early as possible after the migraine headache has started, though it is also effective if taken at a later stage during the migraine attack. Treatment could be repeated after 2 hours if symptoms come back. Maximum daily dosage should not exceed 300 mg.
Side effects
This medicine can cause certain side effects such as feelings of warmth, heaviness, pressure, tightness or pain in certain parts of the body, including the chest or throat. Normally these feelings only last a few minutes.
Precautions
This medicine should be avoided by persons with a history of: heart attack, heart diseases, narrowing of blood vessels in the extremities, stroke, hypertension, decreased liver function, migraine associated with paralysis of the eye muscles, migraine associated with temporary paralysis of one side of the body, basilar migraine.

Pregnant women should only use Imigran if the expected benefit to the mother is greater than any possible risk to the fetus. Please consult your physician. Imigran should be used with caution by breastfeeding women.
Drug Interactions
Imigran may interact with the following other medicines: monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), the antidepressants containing phenelzine, tranylcypromine, isocarboxazid and moclobemide, and the antibiotic linezolid. At least 24 hours should pass before taking Imigran, if you use ergotamine or its derivatives, eg dihydroergotamine or methysergide.
