Flagyl is an antibiotic used for the treatment of abdominal, vaginal, and intestinal infections.
How to use this product
Flagyl may be taken with or without food. The normal dose is 500 mg taken every eight hours. For treatment of trichomoniasis, a single dose of 2000 mg may be used after a meal.
Side effects
The following side effects may occur: diarrhea,
dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, stomach pain or cramps.
Precautions
Flagyl should not be used by: Persons who are allergic to metronidazole or to any other of the ingredients of the medication. If you have an active neurological disorder, a history of blood disorders, an underactive thyroid or underactive adrenal glands.
Drug Interactions
Some medications may affect how Flagyl works or increase the risk of side effects:
