Product description
Ebixa? is a specific, uncompetitive NMDA-receptor antagonist, and has a novel mechanism of action for the treatment of patients with moderately severe to severe Alzheimer?s Disease.
How to use this product
Follow the directions for taking Ebixa provided by your doctor. The recommended starting dose of Ebixa is 5 mg once daily. The recommended target dose is 20 mg/day. The dose should be increased in 5 mg increments to 10 mg/day (5 mg twice a day), 15 mg/day (5 mg and 10 mg as separate doses), and 20 mg/day (10 mg twice a day). The minimum recommended interval between dose increases is one week. Ebixa can be taken with or without food. If you miss a dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once.
Side effects
Ebixa side effects may include confusion, hallucinations, headache, dizziness, and tiredness. If the side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Less common Ebixa side effects may include anxiety, hypertonia, cystitis, vomiting, and increased sexual drive.

Precautions
Do not use Ebixa if you are allergic to any of the contents of the product.
Drug Interactions
Some medicines may interact with Ebixa. Inform your doctor of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Ebixa with amantadine, ketamine, dextromethorphane, dantrolen, baclofen, cimetidine, ranitidine, procainamide, quinidine, quinine, nicotine, hydrochlorothiazide (or combined preparations containing hydrochlorothiazide), anticholinergics, anticonvulsives, barbiturates, dopaminergic antagonists, or neuroleptics.
