Diane contains a combination of two ingredients: cyproterone and ethinyl estradiol.
This medication is used to treat certain types of acne in women, and it works by regulating hormones that affect the skin.
This medication should not be used only for the purpose of birth control, but as a threatment to serious acne problems.
How to use this product
Diane is used in 28-day cycles, taking one tablet daily for 21 days, followed by a 7-day interval without medication. Try to take the pills at the same time each day. Treatment should be started on the first day of the menstrual bleeding.
The medication will be less effective if you miss doses. If a dose is missed, take the missing dose within 12 hours. If more than 12 hours have passed, continue to take the remaining tablets in the pack at the usual time. Do not take an extra pill.
Side effects
Diane may, like all medicines cause side effects. The most common side effects noticed by women using Diane are: nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, breast pain, tenderness, dizziness,
swelling of ankles and feet, tiredness or weakness.
Precautions
Diane should not be used by persons allergic to the substances. Nor should it be used by persons who: have had blood vessel or blood clotting disorders, have active liver disease, have or have had liver tumours, have a history of cholestatic jaundice, have known or suspected breast cancer, have known or suspected tumours dependent on estrogen, have undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding, have any eye lesion caused by blood vessel disease in the eye, have severe diabetes with blood vessel changes, have had otosclerosis with deterioration during pregnancy,
are or may be pregnant or if you arfe breastfeeding.
Drug Interactions
Always consult your physician if other drugs are used at the same time as you use Diane. Interactions may occur.
